Incoming Orientation

The Department organizes orientation activities aimed at students attending upper secondary schools, both in the Campania region and in other parts of Italy. The goal is to provide clear and comprehensive information about the degree programs offered by the Department, helping students to select the academic path that best suits their interests and aspirations.

Orientation activities include:

  • an overview of the structure and organization of the courses;
  • information on the academic and personal skills required for admission;
  • details about the admission process and entrance examinations;
  • guidance on fulfilling any additional learning requirements;
  • insights into the professional and career opportunities linked to each degree program.

These initiatives are intended to support and guide students in making informed and confident decisions regarding their university studies.

Orientation Initiatives

The Department of Chemical Sciences actively participates in orientation initiatives coordinated with the other departments of the Polytechnic and Basic Sciences School (SPSB) at the University of Naples Federico II.

These initiatives aim to establish a direct connection between the university and upper secondary school students.

The main orientation activities include:

  • Open Days: events open to high school students, organized at the University or School level, during which the degree programs are presented, the academic offerings are illustrated, laboratories are visited, and students have the opportunity to interact with professors, students, and researchers;
  • Meetings with selected groups of students, held either at the Department and SPSB facilities or directly within schools, in collaboration with school leadership;
  • Outreach and science dissemination events, organized as part of the University's and Department's third mission activities, with the goal of introducing students to the content and methodologies of scientific research;
  • The "F2S – Federico II nella Scuola" project, promoted by the University in collaboration with the Regional School Authority of Campania, aimed at strengthening dialogue between university degree programs and secondary schools;
  • University-wide projects within the framework of the National Plan for Science Degrees (PLS), focusing on the disciplines of Chemistry, Materials Science, and Biotechnology.

All these activities are coordinated within the Science Teaching Area and the SPSB, in alignment with the University's broader orientation strategies.
